  Welcome Home

We’ve been waiting for you!

It is our belief that God’s providential plan for your life has brought you to this community. To join Him in His purposes to reach out for Him wherever we live, we extend a loving welcome to you and anticipate the opportunity to welcome you into our hearts and our homes like family, because the church is not a building, but a people God is building together into the family of God.

Bullock Creek Presbyterian was founded as a local gathering place for God's people more than 240 years ago in 1769. Before and since then, God has been at work redeeming His people out of the world and giving them the most glorious of futures.  While we cherish the long and rich history of Bullock Creek, it is a history wrought through redemption and times of deep need. With great thankfulness for what God has already done, the people of Bullock Creek are committed to a future where God's purposes are served in and through us for His glory through God the Son - Jesus the Christ.

Yet, it is both a fearful and exciting thing to pursue a commitment to serve one another for God. And so, we are excited about sharing our lives and look joyously forward to joining you in supporting your service in your home, neighborhood, work and school where the Lord is already at work in transforming lives.

And so, we truly believe that your presence at Bullock Creek will be a time of embracing together anew what God is doing in and through us together to free our culture from slavery to sin for God's glory.

 Did you know?

The Charters of Freedom is an archive website for our United States where original founding documents can be viewed online with your own eyes.

Did you also know that the Library of Congress catalogs the foundings of this country by Christians who suffered persecutions that included executions and disembowelment?

Search these sites and others for founding documents such as the Federalist Papers, the Mayflower Compact, and more.

"...this church was noted as one of the "Four Bees" in King George's bonnet due to it's pastor, Rev. Joseph Alexander, preaching open rebellion to the British Crown."

  Founding of BCPC

Founded in 1769, Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church is ranked as the eighth oldest witness in the PCA with the oldest being founded in 1680.

Under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Alexander, Pastor 1774-1801, this church was originally organized just seven years before the Declaration of Independence.  It is a place noted for being a Whig party (pro- revolution) stronghold during the revolution. Three hundred yards west is the site of the earliest academies (see walking tour map) in upper south Carolina which were established in 1787 by Dr. Alexander, the same year of the Northwest Ordinance.

The NW Ordinance of 1787 ordinance outlined the process for admitting a new state to the Union which required each state to acknowledge God in their constitution and for Christianity to be taught by the newly-admitted states in their schools.  Obviously, separation of church and state isn't found in any founding document, nor is it in the Constitution today.

  BCPC Historic Cemetery

Mary Feemster's headstoneThis cemetery includes many unsung heroes of the revolution against King George who desired, in a sense, a   national slavery. The oldest marked gravesite is that of Mary Feemster who was born in 1685 and died in 1776 - the year the of the Declaration of Independence.
